Trae Young decides to stay home

Trae Young commits to Oklahoma.

Class of 2017-point guard Trae Young from Norman North High School (OK) has committed to the Oklahoma Sooners. Young strongly considered going to Kansas, but decided to stay home. Young was a priority for the Sooners for quite some time. He will be a centerpiece for them next year, as senior point guard Jordan Woodard graduates this year.

Young was exceptional this Nike EYBL season with MoKan Elite. He helped lead his team to a Peach Jam Championship with his top-notch scoring ability. The flashy point guard prospect finished with 21.3 points and 7.1 assists per game on the year. He is able to shoot from both mid-range and deep as well as finish in the lane with his craftiness. Lon Kruger now has three class of 2017 commits in Young, Brady Manek and Hannes Polla.
