Class of 2018 PF Nate Roberts
Junior power forward Nate Roberts continues to take his game to a higher level. Roberts made the decision to transfer to Brewster Academy (NH) this past winter. Judging off his performance at the Metro Challenge, this decision proved to be a good one as he has added a lot to his game.
“I definitely got stronger, I got leaner and I added a lot of jump hooks and post work to my game,” he said. “I didn’t use those things that much before and I also built more confidence.”
The 6’8” forward named five of the multiple schools that are deeply in the mix for him.
“Syracuse, Purdue, Xavier, West Virginia, Washington with Coach Hopkins and there’s more,” said Roberts.
He sees one school going after him the hardest right now.
“Right now, I would say Syracuse,” Roberts said. “The way I play I can fit perfectly in their style and Coach Boeheim is a great coach. They also play wings at my size.”
Purdue has shown Roberts why they fit the way he plays. He sees them as an intriguing option for the class of 2018 prospect.
“They recruit a lot of forwards and they get their bigs involved,” he said. “Coach Brantley showed me a stat that they feed their bigs the most out of the whole big ten so that’s great.”
Chris Mack and Xavier are making sure that Roberts knows that is a priority for them.
“Xavier is a tough big east school, Coach Pegues has been talking to me over the past summer or two,” Roberts said. “I just have been building relationships with them.”
