The guard play at East Mania was as strong as expected, with a deep group of lead creators and scoring threats setting the tone throughout the weekend. In a setting loaded with MHC programs and sneaker circuit teams, it was the backcourt talent that consistently controlled games, dictated pace, and made plays in key moments. Whether it was dynamic scoring, high-level decision making, or two-way impact, this group of guards showed why they’ll be relied on heavily as the spring moves forward.
Elijah King, 2027 Guard, Crown MHC (NY)
King was one of the more dynamic scorers we saw over the weekend. When he gets going from three, he’s tough to contain, especially with his ability to create space and get clean looks. He plays with confidence and can change the momentum of a game quickly with his scoring.
Jaiden Stapleton, 2027 Point Guard, Canada Elite (CAN)
Stapleton brought consistent offensive production and played with confidence throughout. He’s quick, shifty, and does a good job putting pressure on the defense. He takes care of the ball and creates opportunities for himself and others, making him a key piece for Canada Elite.
Darrell Davis, 2027 Guard, Team Thrill
Davis was one of the more explosive guards in the building and consistently found ways to impact the game with his speed and scoring ability. A cat-quick lead guard, he thrives in the open floor where he can push the pace, force the action, and create offense for himself. He showed the ability to knock down shots from deep, but what really separates him is how easily he gets into the lane and puts pressure on the defense. He plays with confidence and isn’t afraid of the moment, capable of putting together scoring bursts when he gets going. As he continues to develop, adding to his playmaking and overall control of the game will only elevate his impact.
Micah Gordon, 2027 Point Guard, PSA Cardinals (NY)
Gordon showed why he’s one of the top guards in the country. He’s extremely skilled, makes the right reads, and can score when needed. Shifty, quick, and tough to stay in front of, he consistently puts pressure on the defense. His combination of feel and production stands out.
Nasir Anderson, 2027 Point Guard, Atlanta Celtics (GA)
Anderson put together one of the more impressive weekends of any guard in the building. He’s an elite athlete who plays above the rim, creates separation, and can score in bunches. His shooting continues to improve, and he brings leadership and energy every time out.
Dre Steele, 2027 Point Guard, Uptown MHC (PA)
Steele continues to establish himself as one of the more reliable lead guards on the circuit. He controls the tempo, keeps his team organized, and knows when to take over. Strong getting downhill and capable of creating separation, he plays with poise and a winning approach. Steele looks like a guard his team can lean on all season.
Jelani Middleton, 2027 Guard, Crown MHA (NY)
Middleton carried momentum from a strong NEPSAC season right into his Crown debut and looked the part. He’s a Division I level athlete with a great feel for the game, and he understands how to win. His production off the ball, defensive versatility, and finishing ability all stood out.
Bryan Camacho, 2027 Guard, NJ Beasts (NJ)
Camacho is a smooth, heady guard who plays with great pace and understanding. He moves well without the ball, uses screens effectively, and gets into his spots with ease. Defensively, he’s active and aggressive, jumping passing lanes and competing at a high level.
Manny Ayeye, 2027 Guard, Crown MHC (NY)
Ayeye adds another winning piece to a loaded Crown group. He brings toughness, energy, and consistency on both ends. He knocks down shots, rebounds well for his position, and defends at a high level. His motor and feel make him a valuable piece.
Raul Cruz, 2027 Point Guard, White Mamba (MA)
Cruz was one of the more physical guards in the building and served as the engine for White Mamba. He controls the game, makes good decisions, and can score when needed. His ability to lead and impact both ends stood out.
Jayden Munroe, 2027 Guard, Mount Vernon Elite (NY)
Munroe thrived in the up-tempo environment, consistently making plays in transition and keeping pressure on the defense. He was active defensively, found ways to score around the basket, and did a good job creating for teammates. His motor and ability to impact the game on both ends stood out across the weekend.
