Three Superlatives

Hi My Name Is_

Xander Gratsky scored 21 of Team Final Black’s 66 points in a hard fought loss against Team Takeover Showcase. His ability to create off the dribble and get to the rim allowed him to put up points in bunches. He will be a player to monitor moving forward

Mr. Upside

Czar Witherspoon is an intriguing wing for Kings Unlimited who went for 24 points in their loss to Rising Stars Red. The swingman showed that he could score around the rim, has good rebounding ability, and can go coast to coast with the ball in his hands.

Potential Paint Beast

Yeoukiro Lafortune is an intriguing big man for NJ Roadrunners 15s and Seton Hall Prep that is nowhere near his ceiling, but looks like he could be the next forward to come out of the storied New Jersey program. He has good length and shot blocking ability, and moves very well for his size.

Three Stock Risers

Matt McKenzie, Team Takeover Showcase: A skilled and athletic combo guard, it feels like a matter of time before McKenzie ends up becoming a more “well known” name in grassroots basketball circles. He played hard on both ends of the floor, created off the dribble, and got his teammates involved.

Kyler Landis, York Ballers: A talented combo guard who can both score it and get his teammates involved, Landis kept the defense off balance more often than not. Combining with his backcourt mates he was very impressive and will be a guy to keep tabs on moving forward.

Nick Rebracca, Jersey Force: The Staten Island shooter continues to be one of the offensive leaders for a very good NJ Force 15U squad. With good size and a quick release, he was able to get his shot up early and often over the weekend.

Three Trending Teams

Team Takeover Showcase

Matt McKenzie (2027) & Kenny Boyd II (2029) make up one heck of a backcourt duo and looked poised to help TTO-Showcase 15s qualify for the MHC postseason. They racked up a handful of wins on the weekend, including an important one against the York Ballers.

York Ballers

Ryan Maus & Kyler Landis are another intriguing back court duo that headline for their respective program. The York Ballers have enjoyed a talent resurgence as a whole and the early development of both Maus and Landis should ensure that the future backcourt in the program is a solid one. Maus is more of a shooter at this stage and Landis is more of a creative scorer, but both bring immense value to their team.

UPlay GTA

One of the most intriguing aspects of this UPLay team is the positional size they rolled out at every position over the course of the weekend. A handful of their players looked like real long-term prospects as well and will more than likely be called up to the EYBL team when they hit the 17U ranks.
