2025 MADE Hoops Midwest Mania tipped off on Friday with a slate of high-paced action.

Here’s a look at some of the top storylines from the opening day of action in the 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade divisions:

BLUEprint Hoops Jr. 3SSB 8th grade runs away with Day 1

BLUEprint Hoops Jr. 3SSB was lethal today, breaking over 100 points in both of  their games while winning one by 128 points. They played together as a team on offense and got a lot of second-chance opportunities due to their size and rebounding skills. On defense they were just as tough, making it a real struggle for teams to get the ball past half court.

Mac Irvin / Prolific 2031 light up the day

Mac Irvin / Prolific 2031 looked flat out like one of the best 6th grade teams in the Midwest Warm Up today, finishing 2-0 and winning by an average of 79.5 points. The took their first game by an astonishing 82 points, scoring 100 points as a team. Despite a rocky second game they stayed together and finished the day strong, playing most effectively on the break. What set them apart from others was their ability to have more than three ball handlers on the floor at a time which allowed them to blow by presses and play fast.

Baneville 8th Grade Blitz Opponents

Baneville was playing blitz ball all day today, showcasing one of the most fast-paced offenses. They scored often on fastbreaks, getting fast stops on defense and having a player either take it all the way or make a simple up-pass for an easy layup. When Baneville wasn’t getting easy layups and dunks on the break, they were either getting downhill using their size and athleticism to their advantage or passing the ball out to shooters in the halfcourt setting.

Team Herro 6th grade Turning Heads Early

Team Herro 6th grade was one to watch today finishing the day with a 93-point win. They were impressive through both games showing some elite guard play which was a major key to their success. Team Herro also showed to be an elite shooting team knocking down multiple three’s in their five out half court offense. They used this shooting ability to their advantage using simple pump fakes to drive the baseline for easy layups as well.
