The final day of action at 2026 MADE Hoops Midwest Mania provided a fitting close to the weekend, with top teams delivering high-level performances and major takeaways. Here’s a look at some of the key storylines from Day 3:

 Continuity Is Imperative

In the world of grassroots basketball, where everything is always changing, it can be hard to build real continuity or synergy on the court. That’s why the trio of Jaylen Gunther, Amare Gill, and Ja’Rye Brown returning to play for Wildcat Select for another summer is huge. The three play off each other extremely well and have a great feel for covering each other’s deficiencies. It’s always great to see a program be able to build a real culture and identity year over year.

STARS UAA Finishes Weekend on a High Note

Stars UAA 16U finished the weekend on a high note with two wins over tough opponents. They are a well-balanced team, but Eli Klekamp used his size around the rim, finishing through contact and taking advantage of smaller opponents to help lead the way. Aaron Adams was another forward who was a force to be reckoned with. He’s strong and physical, and he impacts the game in the paint on both sides of the ball. He reads passing lanes well, and he got multiple steals, turning defense into offense. It was a strong day for the Stars, and there’s a lot to be excited about for this group moving forward.

Indiana Elite show their dominance

As the grassroots season starts to ramp up, teams are looking to hit their stride  and Indiana Elite set the tone for the rest of their season with a strong weekend in Hamilton, OH. The squad won all three of their games and did so in dominant fashion, holding each opponent under 45 points. They hounded teams defensively all weekend, turning stops into easy looks on the fast break. This is a group that will be one to keep an eye on, no matter the circuit.
