Thoughts & Observations From The 2024 Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic


This past Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday was the well known annual Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic held at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanne, Georgia.  Over the course of the three days there were 14 games featuring 22 different boys teams and also included one of the top programs from Alabama.  There was no shortage of talent and star power as there were some familiar names and faces that shined, but plenty of new ones as well who are worthy of mentioning.  Please see my notes below from each game and a recap of the all-tournament team below.  Thank you again to coach Matt Garner and the entire crew at North Gwinnett High School for their hospitality and for putting on a great event that did not disappoint.  


GAME 1: Nov. 23 - 11:30 AM - Osborne HS vs. Mt. Vernon HS

To tip off the event we started with two teams who have gone through a lot of changes coming into this year compared to last year.  Mt. Vernon is under new direction in first year head coach Reed Dungan and Osborne had some transfers in the offseason.  In a game that Osborne led most of the way, 2025 6’5 Jeremiah Waters was dominant.  He finished with 28 points, but what was impressive
