2024 Jordan Holiday Classic Friday Morning Recap


Day one of the Jordan Holiday Classic has tipped off here at Baruch College. The first three games of the day have been action packed, and full of intense moments. With the rest of the day ahead, MADE Hoops breaks down the action from the first half of the day. 


Scanlan Sets The Tone in An All-Bronx Matchup 

Monsignor Scanlon and Eagle Academy had a heated matchup to start game sets this morning, with Scanlan pulling away at the end for 59-51 victory. Scanlan was led by 2026 guard Dior Anderson who put up 30 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Kemar Martin also chipped in with 16 points and 9 rebounds in the win. 


The guard tandem of Denim Trotman and Elijah King put up a good fight to keep Eagle Academy alive. Trotman finished with 13 points and 4 steals, while Elijah King netted 15 points and 5 steals. 



New York vs New Jersey Was An OT Thriller 

Hudson Catholic and Nazareth Regional had the best game of the morning, requiring an extra quarter of play before a winner was decided. Hudson Catholic capped off the win 67-62 behind a 25 point, 11 rebound performance from Quinnipiac commit Keith McKnight. 


McKnight was a reliable downhill threat all game for Hawks, utilizing his athleticism and functional strength to create offensive advantages. Sharp shooting combo guard Omari Moore also contributed 21 points of his own on 5-11 from three. 


Nazareth saw strong performances from Jojo Jennings and Halon Rawlins in the loss. Jennings lived at the free throw line, finishing with 17 points on 9-11 from the free throw line. Rawlins multilevel scoring was an integral piece in keeping Nazareth competitive. His 21 points and 6 rebounds was impressive although his team came up short. 



George School Wins Big At The Buzzer 

George School just marched into the Jordan Holiday Classic and left with a 59-58 upset win against the Phelps School. The cougars were led by 2026 guard Peyton Miller who led the team with 23 points, 7 rebounds and converted the game winner to seal the deal for George School. Senior forward Luke Melniczak also chipped in with 21 points and 10 rebounds of his own. 


Onyx Nnani was the leading scorer for Phelps with 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Nyce Bakare also added 14 points on 50% from the field.
