Trinity League Primer: The Teams to Beat, Strong Challengers, and Underdogs
December 2, 2024 by Greg Stein
The Trinity League is once again stacked with talent and storylines, featuring some of the top basketball programs in Southern California. Defending CIF State Division 1 Champion St. John Bosco enters as the favorite, led by their dynamic trio of Elzie Harrington, Brandon McCoy Jr., and Christian Collins. Mater Dei, guided by legendary coach Gary McKnight, will rely on elite shooters Luke Barnett and Owen Verna to lead a retooled roster. JSerra has reloaded with standout transfers like SMU commit BJ Davis-Ray and playmaker Brannon Martinsen, while Santa Margarita, featuring Long Beach State signee Dallas Washington and Washington State commit Brayden Kyman, also projects as a strong contender. Meanwhile, Servite and Orange Lutheran will focus on building momentum and developing their younger talent as they face the challenges of competing in such a stacked league.
