2025 F Ace Flagg Commits To Maine

Another top prospect in the class of 2025 has made his college decision. Maine native Ace Flagg. The twin brother of Duke standout Cooper Flagg, has committed to the University of Maine, staying home for his college years.

Both of the Flagg brothers grew up in Maine before moving to Florida to play for Montverde Academy. They both stayed connected to their home state even as they moved, however; over the summer, the Flagg twins hosted a summer basketball camp for Maine youth. Montverde also traveled up to Maine for the MADE Hoops Maine Event for two games in the Flagg's hometown.  Now, after Cooper reclassified to 2024 and signed with Duke, Ace has transferred to Greensboro Day School in North Carolina to finish out his high school career.

Flagg came into his own this summer while playing for Team White Mamba 2025 on the MADE Hoops Circuit. The talented big man made the most of his opportunity to display his game on the MHC, and he didn’t disappoint. Flagg impressed with his three-point shooting, defense, and fundamental-based game. Perhaps more importantly, though, was the fact that he was an emotional leader and tone-setter for one the Circuit’s top teams. TWM would go on top a near perfect season, losing once in May and not losing again until in the MHC championship game in late July.

At Greensboro Day, Flagg is playing under Freddy Johnson, one of the longest tenured coaches in North Carolina high school basketball. Coach Johnson has an incredible track record of success and over 1,000 victories in his career, and Flagg will help the team contend for a 13th state title.

After that, it’s off to the home state program in Maine. He’s an intriguing prospect for the program thanks to his versatile game and what he and his family means to the state’s basketball culture as a whole. His ability to play well off of seemingly any style of big man will allow him to find his way on the floor more often. It wouldn’t be shocking to see an increase in support around the program as a whole now that one of the state’s brightest prospects in recent memory is in the fold. From the time he set foot in the MADE Hoops 7eague with Team Maine several years ago, to his time at Montverde and Team White Mamba, Flagg has done a lot of winning so far in his basketball career. With any luck that will continue once he sets foot on his college campus and returns home.
