UNC Lands 2025 G Isaiah Denis
November 7, 2024 by Tex Greene
One of North Carolina’s top guard prospects is off the board, with that being Isaiah Denis. The four-star recruit for Davidson Day announced his commitment on Saturday, picking between Wake Forest, UNC, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and Miami. Chapel Hill had always seemed to be Denis' favorite, although Wake Forest did seem to be the other serious contender.
Denis has been a highly sought-after recruit thanks to his performance over the past year. Denis has been the leader of Davidson Day, one of the top high school teams in the state of North Carolina. Their 24-7 season culminated in a 2A state championship victory over Greenfield. After that spectacular season, Denis played on Nike’s EYBL circuit with Team CP3, which garnered him attention from the highly ranked D1 schools interested in him.
Denis is a 6’4” guard with lots of raw athleticism that intrigued schools. The general consensus from scouts is that he’s a good defender and a guy who plays fast. He can pick up steam going downhill quickly and hit jump shots, although he’ll need to put on weight to be successful in the ACC.
After Derek Dixon, Denis is Chapel Hill’s second commit in the Class of 2025. While these two are solid, it’ll be easier to contend with other ACC powerhouses with a few more signees later on in the 2024-25 season.
