2025 Georgia 2A Postseason Primer Regions 5-8

This time in February is always an exciting time of year for Georgia high school basketball fans.  It’s the time of year for the region tournaments.  We get to see who’s going to make that one last push to take home a region championship.  2A this year will be interesting as there is no guarantee that claiming a top four spot will get you into the state tournament when it comes time to seed everyone 1-32.  The private schools get their last shot at the public schools, as they will be having their own separate state tournament.  The race is on as things are heating up in 2A this week and should make for some great races.  With one #1 seed upset already, read below to see the breakdown…

2A - Region 5 - AT Holy Innocents’ HS

First Round - February 8th

Second Round - February 11th

Semifinals - February 13th

Championship/Consolation - February 15th

Favorite - Holy Innocents’ is no stranger to the Georgia basketball scene.  The defending runner up in 4A finds themselves this year in 2A, and will be a favorite in the newly added private school state tournament.  The Bears are heavily favored to take the region title this week.
