2025 Guard Chase Timberlake is One of NY’s Hidden Gems

As one of the top shooters on the 17U MHC this past season for Rising Stars, Baldwin guard Chase Timberlake was one of the forces that made his team go. After joining the MHC in April, the Rising Stars were one of the most impressive teams at the 17U level. Timberlake hit a number of big shots over the season, including one to hand Team White Mamba its lone regular season loss.
“I feel like this AAU season overall went pretty good for me after not playing on a circuit last year. I think MHC is an amazing circuit with a lot of exposure, it was very competitive and overall a fun great experience also it’s very organized.” said Timberlake
While he’s yet to pick up his first scholarship offer, Timberlake understands what he can bring to a college program and also where he can stand to improve.
“I feel I bring leadership as like a secondary coach but on the floor, competitiveness and the ability to play-make not only for myself but for others on my team to get them going as well. Things I'm working on are mainly my body and getting it stronger and more filled out for the next level, also my handle and trying to become a lockdown defender.”
Now, the rising senior guard turns his attention to the coming high school season. At Baldwin, Timberlake has put up several monster scoring performances while being the engine that makes the team go. One accolade that keeps eluding him is a Long Island Championship. Timberlake hopes to change that this season
“Some goals this year are to 4-peat as Nassau County Champions. Winning States and being the first team in school history to do so.. Also losing the Long island Championship in back to back years, I definitely need to change that. I’m Trying to win player of the year in Nassau and overall on Long Island. Lastly, score my 1,000th point,” said Timberlake.
His recruitment has yet to really pick up, something that most Long Islanders at public schools have to deal with at some point in their careers, but that doesn’t concern the high IQ shooter just yet. For now, he’s focused on continuing to develop and help push Baldwin to new heights. As one of NY’s hidden gems it’s only a matter of time before a college program decides to pull the trigger.
