2025 FIBA U19 World Cup: Boise State Commit Spencer Ahrens Anchors Canada

I’ve been tracking 2025 forward Spencer Ahrens ever since his Grade 9 days with the Mississauga Monarchs, and what we’re seeing at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland is the payoff of years of steady growth, relentless work, and elite-level polish. Born October 16, 2006, in Oakville, Ontario, the Boise State commit now stands 610, 230 lbs, and is fresh off a powerhouse prep journey culminating with Sunrise Christian (KS) and Bella Vista Prep (AZ), and UPlay Canada on the EYBL circuit.

Through two games in Switzerland, Spencer is leading Canada in both efficiency and scoring while averaging 6 rebounds and 3 assists per outing. He’s legit across the board, filling stat sheets in a way young bigs rarely do.

Scouting the Game: What He Brings

1. Scoring & Efficiency

Spencer’s scoring isn’t volume-chasing -  it’s efficient and explosive. As a pickandpop threat, a post-up scorer, and a lobs finisher, his versatility makes him a matchup nightmare. Last summer at Peach Jam for UPlay Canada, he averaged 13 points per game, shot 40.8 percent from the floor, and added five blocks over six games.
