2027 Sleeper Kur Lual Is Starting to Emerge

Every season, there’s a player who moves from under-the-radar to undeniable. For the class of 2027 in Canada, that player might be Kur Lual.

The 6-foot-7 wing out of Ottawa, ON, plays prep basketball for Canada Topflight Academy under the leadership of Tony House, and suits up for Lu Dort Elite as well as Shayok Next Wave on the grassroots circuit. After showing flashes early in the season, Lual has taken a major leap—one that was on full display at this past weekend’s Shayok Summer Showcase.

Lual walked away with Tournament MVP honors and a Division I offer from Canisius University. But even more than those accolades, what stood out was how polished, confident, and complete his game looked.
