THE LEAD
Annor Boateng, the 30th overall prospect in 2024, has committed to Dennis Gates and Missouri. The Little Rock, Arkansas native chose the Tigers over Arkansas, Indiana, Auburn and more.

BACKGROUND
Boateng began to turn a corner towards becoming an elite prospect in the class last summer with the Arkansas Hawks. A chiseled 6-6 and 210 pound athlete, he has running back athleticism with his ability to play through others on either end, change direction and shed defenders on drives. While his recruitment spread national, it long seemed clear he'd eventually land in the SEC because of his athletic profile along with the consistency of Arkansas, Ole Miss and the Tigers since Gates' arrival.
SOUND BITE
In early May, Boateng told our Travis Graf, "Ole Miss has been talking to me, Arkansas, Harvard has been texting me a little bit, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Indiana, and Missouri as well. Those are the schools that have been on me a little harder."
WHAT'S NEXT?
Now, the Tigers full focus turns towards Top-5 2024 F Jayden Quaintance, who is currently on campus for an official visit. With one of the nation's top classes already in the fold, it'd be quite the statement in Dennis Gates' first full recruiting class. Boateng joins TO Barrett, Peyton Marshall and Marcus Allen en route to Columbia.
MY TAKE
Zooming in on Boateng, the next step has long been consistent skill development. Physically, he's among the very premier in the national 2024 class. Exceptional defensively, unique twitch at his size, explosive in tight spaces and is at his best displacing defenders attacking downhill. This spring with Arkansas Hawks, he had a near 1 to 2 AST:TO ratio and shot just 31% from three. The summer prior, the AST to TO ratio was closer to 1:1, and shot just 26% from three. Two keys areas to continue sharpening -- further consistency as a spot up shooter and improved feel as a downhill playmaker for others as defense seem to tilt his way rather quickly off the drive. With all that, he's asserted himself as one of 2024's most promising prospects and given further development in key areas, may very well blossom into a draft prospect within one to two years.
