2024 | 6’5” Wing | Lexington (SC) & Team United (EYBL)
The #53 player in our 2024 rankings, Cam Scott has committed to Texas over Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oregon, and South Carolina. He is the Longhorns first 2024 commit, however they’ve been targeting a collection of prospects. This was a big recruiting win for Rodney Terry and staff as they secure a talented wing out of South Carolina. Scott averaged 13.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG and 1.9 APG on 45% from the field this past AAU season on the Nike EYBL Circuit. Texas is also targeting Tre Johnson, Liam McNeeley, Curtis Givens, Kuol Atak, Robert Miller, Nic Codie and more in the 2024 class as well.
Scott is an athletic wing prospect who has been a priority for programs across the country during his high-school career. Long, twitchy and fluid athlete who tends to be highly productive as a slasher off the wing. Beats closeouts routinely with his mix of speed and long strides on the perimeter. Bouncy rim finisher who is filled with explosiveness & a springy vertical in the lane. Smooth mid-range scorer whose expanded his touch & confidence as an off the dribble shooter over the years. A capable spot-up scorer from behind the arc, although improving his consistency & three-point percentages will be key down the road. Scott’s also made growth as a defender where he’s become more aggressive & instinctual when guarding at the point of attack. His mix of movement skills, fluidity and foot speed allow him to defend on the ball in space as well. Big start to the 2024 class for Texas and there’s certainly more upside for Scott to tap into down the road.
