Chris Tadjo Commits to Iowa

THE LEAD
Chris Tadjo, a Top-150 prospect in 2024, has committed to Iowa. The Montreal, Canada native chose the Hawkeyes over a variety of high major programs such as TCU, Xavier and more.

BACKGROUND
In mid-to-late 2022, Tadjo began to assert himself on the high major radar while playing with the NBA Academy Latin American. The physical forward joined a growing list of Montreal natives to make the move down to the Latin Academy, and hit the ground running in a number of trips to America. He first arose on my radar playing at the Tarkanian Classic. While the recruitment of Academy prospects tends to move quieter than most others, it became clear that Tadjo would land on a high major roster as the sample size grew larger.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Tadjo joins Cooper Koch en route to Iowa City, giving Fran McCaffery and the Hawkeyes a pair of 6-8 forwards with vastly different skillsets. While the recruiting landscape is always fluid, it appears more likely than not that as far as high school commitments, Iowa has wrapped up their 2024 cycle.
MY TAKE
Iowa has been linked with a number of big wing, versatile four-type of prospects, and lands on one that should translate rather seamlessly to Big 10 basketball. Defense, rebounding, energy and athleticism -- Tadjo brings it each and every time out. Physical and exceptionally strong, but moves his feet well defensively and flashes ability to switch in space and survive against quicker offensive players. It's easy to see the Canadian forward bringing value in spots early on in his collegiate career as a rebounder and defender given his physicality, toughness and athletic ability. Continuing to polish his skill level, processing-ability and carving out a bankable trait offensively will be keys long-term.
