Top-50 2025 Chuck Love discusses first season on the national stage, recruitment and more


The buzz has quickly materialized with Chuck Love over the past 10 or so months, asserting himself as a Top-50 prospect in the class of 2025. After a summer full of flashes with MoKan, the Lincoln, Nebraska native has made the move to join national power, La Lumiere (IN). Prior to a preseason exhibition, we sat down to discuss the move, the latest on the recruitment front and what's next in his development.

It doesn't take too long to see the appeal with Love — now standing at 6-8 with a plus wingspan and a wiry frame to go with a fluid, easy stroke from beyond the arc. In essence, your prototypical 3&D+ prospect. He shoots it with confidence, is capable of guarding multiple spots and has promising instincts as a connective passer in the half-court. The Lakers staff believe his defensive versatility and growing buy-in on that end of the floor will be key for them alongside a loaded backcourt.

"We compete everyday. My relationship with Coach Pat (Holmes) and the staff has been huge. It's been a great environment overall  — we're all super competitive, in a good way, and I can feel myself getting better because of it."

Between 17 games with MoKan 16's and 10 games at the Nike Elite Top 100, he shot 33% from deep on 7.5 3PA per game. The flashes were big, but there's plenty to shore up according to Love.
