MADE Here: Evan Haywood Commits To Butler

2024 guard and MADE Hoops alum Evan Haywood has committed to Butler this afternoon. The 6'4" guard, who averaged 14.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 37% from three during his junior season, chose the Bulldogs over additional offers from Miami (OH), Eastern Illinois, SIUE, IUPUI, Vermont, Middle Tennessee State, Appalachian State, and Southern Indiana. Below, he breaks down his decision with MADE Hoops' Travis Graf, and Logan Greenwell adds in scouting notes on the senior prospect.

Why He Chose Butler: "I picked them because I believe that's the best opportunity for me to get better and grow as a player. Also playing for a coach like Thad Matta is very good because of how he teaches the game."

Butler's Pitch: "The biggest selling point was just seeing how the coaches treated not just me, but their players and how they value everyone's individual abilities."

What Butler Fans Can Expect From Haywood: "Butler can look forward to me doing whatever it takes to win and doing all I can to contribute to a winning program."

Scouting Notes: "The 6'4" scoring guard can fill it up from all three levels. He recently won the 1v1 competition at Kyle Guy Elite 24 Camp. He's quick and decisive on his moves to the basket. Really talented passer with room for growth as a decision maker. Smooth release from three with good elevation. Average athlete, but makes up for that with crafty finishes around the basket." - Logan Greenwell
