The #73 player in our 2024 rankings, Marcus Allen has committed to Mizzou over Arkansas, Stanford, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State and more. As things currently stand, he is set to join TO Barrett (#80 in 2024) in the Tigers 2024 recruiting class. Dennis Gates went 25-10 in his first season at the helm in Columbia and he’s been gaining some steam on the recruiting trail as of late. Mizzou has also offered Felix Kossaras, Bishop Boswell, Kameren Wright, Lewis Walker, Darrion Sutton and multiple others in the 2024 class.
Allen is a well-built and physically mature athlete who is a tough slasher at the point of attack. Forceful ball handler who has a strong knack for leveraging his frame to size up or bully smaller defenders when attacking the rim. Physical rim finisher who has the upper body build to overpower smaller defenders with his mix of size and aggression. Smooth face-up scorer who has shown off soft touch inside the arc, although he’s still expanding his range & consistency as a three-point shooter. Truly a defensive specimen that is highly switchable and versatile when guarding the ball. Possesses the foot speed and lateral agility to guard in space, yet his physical build gives him the ability to wall-off opposing slashers. Tends to be a productive positional rebounder who is capable of holding his own on the glass. Overall, there’s certainly some upside to build upon and now the Mizzou staff has added yet another Top-100 prospect to their 2024 recruiting class.
