MHC Preview: Mid Atlantic Select Looking to Assert Itself on 2024 MADE Hoops Circuit

Based out of Maryland, Mid Atlantic Select has been one of the top independent AAU programs on the east coast for the past 13 seasons. Year 14 will be a new experience for the program, as they jump into their first year of the MADE Hoops Circuit. Despite coming into a new circuit, the expectations remains the same:

“Our expectations are to compete against high level competition each and every session that will bring out the best in our players, coaches and the whole MAS org.  Also, for our players  to gain exposure from college coaches, recruiting services and The MADE Hoops Circuit help each player maximize their potential,“ Program director James Lee said.

With a number of talented prospects in the program, Mid Atlantic Select is poised to make noise in year one. The 17U group will feature highly touted Loyola-Blakefield (MD) guard Mason Ellison, who comes back for year 2 of 17U action alongside shooter Devin Thomas. Turkish wing Deniz Gokipnar has an intriguing blend of size and skill at 6-foot-5, while Muhammad Kara will likely be a popular name amongst college coaches this season. Finally, St. Vincent-Palotti PG Mikes Connelly will help run the show this year.

The class of 2026 Mid-Atlantic Select class is strong as well. 6-foot-5 wing Kishann Smith is an intriguing long-term prospect who will be playing up. Good Counsel combo guard Jamaal Mansaray has good positional size at 6-foot-3 and will likely be another creator alongside Connelly. Meanwhile, 5-foot-10 point guard  Ghavyne St. Pierre will run the offense on the 16U team. Both groups figure to factor in heavily when it comes to talking about contenders for this season.

The program has helped countless players achieve their dreams of playing in college at all different levels while also developing them on and off the floor. Lee attributes that to the program’s coaches who have helped build the culture alongside him.

“It would have to be the connection between our core group of coaches and the adults that are a part of the MAS organization.  We are a true family that has stuck together over the last 14 years. We have had the same mission to help prepare young men on/off the court.  We pride ourselves on player development, high character & work ethic.

Those things have carried over to our current players and alumni over the last 14 years, and have produced high level results” he said.

Whether it’s through victories or scholarships for their players, or both- you can expect more of those high level results from Mid Atlantic Select on the MADE Hoops Circuit this season.
