Nate Guerengomba Commits To UMass

2024 wing guard Nate Guerengomba has committed to UMass over Maryland, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, Rhode Island and more. He is officially their first commit from the 2024 class, however they’re also targeting multiple other prospects. This was a big pickup for Frank Martin & staff as they land a tough guard who had high-major programs involved. UMass has also offered Rashawn Tibby, Kingston Walker, CJ Cox, and multiple others in the 2024 class. 

Guerengomba is a physically mature wing guard who is comfortable and effective playing on or off the ball. Well-built athlete who plays with force at the point of attack, plus he has the foot speed & burst to beat closeouts. Fluid spot-up scorer from distance with a quick release and adequate shot preparation, yet he’s also capable of stepping into pull-up jumpers inside the arc. He’s a hard-nosed and aggressive rim finisher who doesn’t shy away from length or bigger rim protectors. Brings contagious energy to both ends of the floor and he’s as tough as they come on the defensive end. Physical at the point of attack, can guard in space and he also tends to be a productive positional rebounder with a high-motor. There’s room to improve his shooting off the dribble and he can also continue to diversify his shot profile. Regardless, his mix of toughness, two-way value and developing polish makes him a big get for the Minuteman.
