Oklahoma State lands Top-50 2025 guard Ryan Crotty

Oklahoma State head coach Steve Lutz received good news yesterday when top-50 2025 Miller School and Boo Williams guard Ryan Crotty pledged to the Cowboys. The news went public this morning and gives the staff momentum heading into the fall with a piece to build around for years to come.

"When I went on my visit everything felt right," Crotty told MADE Hoops. "I really like the campus and the facilities. The coaching staff has been showing love ever since they began recruiting me."

Crotty's ascension took place in early spring after hitting the EYBL Circuit with Boo Williams in strong fashion. His dead-eye shooting from three, competitive edge and thorough feel for the game are all aspects that can transition nicely into the right college system.

"The atmosphere of the school was something that I wanted to be a part of. The coaching staff really believes in me and showed me how it fit into their style of play. The staff pushed to me how fast they play and how much they get out in transition. They like how I get to my spots in transition"

Lutz was brought in after a successful run at Western Kentucky where his team led the nation in adjusted tempo last season at 75.1 per game.

The Cowboys' staff could be seen on the sidelines throughout the spring and summer. In June in particular, associate head coach James Miller was court side for Crotty throughout DMV Live Session II (Crotty didn't play in Session I). He averaged 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and two assists per game while shooting over 38 percent from on his 44 attempts from deep.

Crotty is coming off his official visit to Stillwater this past weekend and was set to officially visit Virginia Tech, Clemson and Maryland, but obviously the plan and presentation put on by Lutz and company was enough for Crotty to shut things down.

Crotty ranks as the No. 48 overall prospect in the 2025 MADE Hoops rankings.
