Unsigned '24 Rafael Barcinas discusses recruitment ahead of MHC season

Unsigned 2024 guard Rafael Barcinas is a player whose AAU coach Arthur Clayborn describes as a "definite scholarship D2 point guard or high academic D1" as he prepares for the MADE Hoops Circuit with Maryland Movement. MADE Hoops caught up with Barcinas to get the latest in his recruitment as he heads into a busy spring looking to earn more scholarship opportunities. 

Recruitment: "My recruitment has been going kind of slow right now, so far just McDaniel College and Garrett College. I have picked up some interests from Mercyhurst and Point Park recently. Coach Art and Coach Sid have been helping me get my recruitment out there and talking to coaches. With McDaniel, I like the coaches hospitality and their academics. With Garrett, I like how they develop their players and get them to the next level. With Mercyhurst I like the conference they play in and the competition they play on a daily basis,"

What He's Looking For: "Somewhere that feels like family while at the same time a place that competes at a high level."

His Game: "Shooting threat, floor general with a high motor and high IQ, tenaciously attacks the rim, tough defender. Very vocal leader and picks up the best player."
