Seton Hall Joins Growing List of HM Suitors For Swann
May 23, 2025 by Brian Reichert
This past year, Thomas Jefferson 2026 Point Guard Jahda Swann had an unforgettable season, truly making a name for himself. He earned Player of the Year in the PSAL and Brooklyn Borough, secured the 4A Title, and has significantly climbed the rankings in his class. Swann is a serious two-way prospect with a unique skillset, and his recruitment has noticeably intensified.
Initially, he received offers from programs like UAB, LIU, Manhattan, and Norfolk State, but the offer from Mississippi State really caught attention. Following that, George Mason and Cincinnati entered the picture, along with Iona and Villanova's recent involvement. Swann recently announced Seton Hall's interest, sparking speculation about a perfect fit. Head Coach Shaheen Holloway's remarkable run at St. Peter’s a few seasons ago led him to the Pirates' position.
Holloway was a standout player for Seton Hall and spent nearly a decade there as an assistant coach. His first year as head coach went smoothly, and in his second year, they won the NIT. However, the 2024-2025 season was a disappointment for the Pirates. Since the winter, the coaching staff has shifted their focus to recruiting high school talent.
They already have Brewster Point Guard Darien “PayDay” Moore signed for 2026, and he would pair well with Swann. This versatile guard can play any position on the court, has become an excellent three-point shooter, can defend multiple positions, and possesses elite athleticism. His basketball IQ is exceptionally high; he makes winning plays, elevates his teammates, and is still developing his enormous potential. Holloway is the type of coach who could maximize his game, but the NYC senior will undoubtedly be highly sought after. Swann has the potential to be a McDonald’s All American and should attract interest from every High Major school."
