Stat Story: Cause for Gicarri Harris' steady climb, Chris Cenac's trajectory & more

Statistics certainly don't tell the full story, but they’re a big piece of the puzzle in evaluating trajectory. Often times, it’s the most instructive tool in terms of projecting what’s not there yet, but will be in time.

Moving forward, I'll break down to what make of a few promising statistical indicators on different prospects from around the country, along with a few potentially of concern. As with evaluation as a whole, the process is fluid. As the sample size grows, the worrisome indicators can be diminished. All analytics are from Synergy Sports.

The substance behind Gicarri Harris' climb

Harris isn't the biggest or more explosive, but he's extremely mature in his approach and ultra efficient in his offensive profile. In 3SSB 17's, he connected on 47% of his threes on over six attempts per game.

Ryan Altman is the ultimate Swiss-Army knife; the numbers and the eye test back it

On the UA Circuit, he put up over 6 rebounds and nearly 2 blocks per game in addition to just about 3 assists to just 1 turnover per game. A connective glue piece on both ends of the floor, and perhaps his most valuable traits are intangible as a communicator and timely defender.

Jalen Reece is one of the nation's elite shot-makers

The nifty, skilled guard is exceptionally skilled on the ball, connecting on 43% from three on 4.5 attempts while dishing out over 3 assists per game. Maybe not as shifty at the same stage, but there are shades of Aden Holloway in his game. Reece makes shots at a high clip and understands how to generate advantages in a number of ways, while having more levels to hit as a full-scale lead guard.

Kaidon Rayfield's blend of upside and scalability

Rayfield's tools have popped for sometime now, and while the best is still well ahead, he's shown to have plenty of immediate scalability to impact winning as a two-way wing. Often times, projecting a prospect with big-time tools to further levels is foggy in a number areas, but the Oklahoma City native understands how to do a ton with a little designed his way. Promising indicators across the board, and the output is beginning to reflect it.
