Top-115 F Emmanuel Stephen Chooses Arizona

The Lead

 Emmanuel Stephen, the 113th overall prospect in 2024, has committed to Arizona. The Dream City Christian (AZ) product chose the Wildcats over Kansas, Miami, Michigan and USC. 

Background

Emmanuel started to see his recruitment ascend this past spring and summer while shining with Paul George Elite on the EYBL Circuit. He quickly proved to be one of the top rim protectors in the class given his 2.8 BPG during the EYBL. He’s steadily risen up our 2024 ranking and he’s sitting comfortably in the Top-120 at this point in time. Emmanuel added numerous high-major offers this summer and he’s become a frontcourt priority for multiple coaching staffs across the country. 

What’s Next

Arizona’s 2024 recruiting class now consists of Carter Bryant (#23 in 2024), Jamari Phillips (#42 in 2024) and Stephen Emmanuel (#113 in 2024). Tommy Lloyd and staff have secured commitments from three Paul George Elite products, therefore it’s clear that they may have some additional chemistry compared to most incoming freshman. The Wildcats may still be in the mix for Top-15 2024 Zoom Diallo as well.

My Take

The Wildcats have secured a fairly balanced class by landing one guard, one wing and now a frontcourt prospect in Stephen Emmanuel. While he’s still fairly offensively, the defensive imprint is where he pops most at this stage in his development. Rangy, instinctual and bouncy rim protector who is filled with vertical pop & quick verticality. Tends to leverage his relentless motor to be highly productive as a rim runner and rebounder. Reliable lob threat who utilizes his quick first jump and functional hands to secure passes above the rim. Overall, this is a strong get for Tommy Lloyd & staff as they strengthen their frontcourt.
