Tyler Johnson Commits to Virginia Tech
August 30, 2023 by Max Feldman
Tyler Johnson, the 128th overall prospect in the class of 2024, has committed to Virginia Tech. Fantastic get for the Hokies, locking down one of the most undervalued prospects in the cycle and one that we are higher on than the rest of the industry.
Johnson, a well-built 6-6 wing, quickly became one of my favorite undervalued prospects in the class this spring and summer with the Florida Rebels. Loaded with strength and functional athleticism, the Florida native makes quick decisions on the offensive end and palpably grew in confidence from session to session. Already proficient playing off of other stars and toggling between roles on the wing, his approach and winning impact consistently stood out in the EYBL. Defends multiple spots, rebounds, runs in transition, attacks closeouts and thrives playing in traffic. High on this get for the Hokies, locking in an impactful wing with impressive tools and the demeanor to match.
