Breakdown
Given the 38 prospects brought into Colorado Springs last week, it was going to be tough to mess up. Loaded collection of prospects to choose from, there's no reason to believe USAB's undefeated record (37-0) at the Americas Championship will change. The final roster has eight prospects ranked within their respective top-5's nationally.
Stocked with a strong blend of skill at size up and down the roster, they can play a ton of different type of lineups to shift up or down against opposing size. Versatile wings like Isiah Harwell, Caleb Holt and Tyran Stokes should unlock plenty for this group.
Projected Starting Five: Cayden Boozer, Darryn Peterson, AJ Dybantsa, Koa Peat and Cameron Boozer
Key Players: USAB will have a notable size advantage in every matchup at the Americas Championship. While Dybantsa, Stokes, Boozer, Peat and numerous others are impactful passers at their size, one weakness could be the lack of true playmakers on the roster. JJ Mandaquit should serve a key role off the bench behind Cayden Boozer. A true table setter with a mature approach, his presence as an organizer and connector should tie things together for the group when things bog down, if they do. Again, this group should absolutely rack up paint points all throughout Americas play, but floor-spacers will be key to optimizing that. Brandon McCoy (37% 3PT in EYBL) and Jalen Montonati(47% 3PT in EYBL) will be instrumental there.
