What does Tony Bennett's retirement mean for Chance Mallory?

In surprising fashion, Virginia head coach Tony Bennett will announce his retirement this morning after 15 seasons between Virginia and Washington State. Bennett accepted the position with the Cavaliers for the 2009-10 season and went on to win the 2018-19 national championship just a year after being upset by the No. 16 seeded UMBC in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
With the season less than three weeks away, there are countless ripple effects of this announcement including the current 2025 recruiting class, which is their lone commit in four-star Chance Mallory. After speaking with sources, we have an idea of how Mallory will approach his plans for the immediate future.
