Rutgers has landed its fourth commitment for the class of 2018 in Ron Harper Jr. The New Jersey native received an offer from Scarlet Knights this past week and decided it was the place for him. Harper decided to stay in his home-state for a number of reasons.

"I felt like it was a great place to be because of all the change they have going on so I think they are heading in the right direction," said Harper.

Harper identified a couple of key factors that set Rutgers apart from the rest.

"The key factors for me were a place where I felt welcomed and at home," he said. "I also like that it's close to home and Big Ten is a great conference to play in."

The coaching staff has told him how they will utilize him when he gets there next year.

They told me they want me to make an immediate impact," Harper said. "They like how I shoot the ball so they want to use me as a scorer when I get there."
