2025 East Warmup: 17U MHC Standouts

The second weekend of MHC action in the northeast continued with East Warmup in Manheim, PA. We saw some programs make their MHC debuts, teams looking to continue where they left off and new emerging prospects. With that in mind, here’s some 17U standouts from MHC play.

Amyre Gray | 2025 Guard | New Haven Heat (CT)

Heady floor general Amyre Gray had a productive weekend as the lead guard for New Haven Heat. Gray helped lead his team to a 3-1 record on the weekend, going 3-0 in MHC play during their first weekend back on the circuit. Very adept at obtaining paint touches and finding teammates for easy looks.

Mauran Cicic | 2025 Center | 6th Boro Hoops (NY)

Mauran Cicic is the bruiser inside for this 6th Boro 17U squad, and he executed within his role at a very high level. 6th Boro often found themselves playing through the six-foot-eleven post threat in the half court setting. His feel for the game, back to basket skills and playmaking as a post scorer make him a versatile offensive prospect.

Cam Sweeney | 2026 Guard | Sideline Cancer (PA)

Cam Sweeney was very impressive in his high usage role for Sideline Caner as the primary ball handler. A confident, strong lead guard who had no issue getting to any spot on the floor he desired from a live dribble. Commanded the offense with assertiveness and used his strong upper body to create advantages.

Aleksa Vlajic | 2025 Forward | 6th Boro Hoops (NY)

Aleksa Vlajic was easily one of the more impressive scorers to participate in the action at East Warmup. Through two games on Saturday, Vlajic averaged 31.5 points and 7 rebounds per game. In his first game he exploded for a thirty-seven point performance where he made nine three point baskets. Vlajic’s shooting touch at his size continuously created mismatches for 6th Boro Hoops on their way to a 3-0 record on the weekend.

Carter Wilson | 2025 Guard | Rising Stars (NY)

Downhill creator Carter Wilson had an effective weekend for Rising Stars this past weekend. Aggressive playmaker who made shots off the bounce at an efficient clip, and consistently found ways to get to the free throw line.

Torrey Brooks Jr. | 2026 Guard | Jersey Force (NJ)

Torrey Brooks Jr. had another explosive weekend scoring the ball for Jersey Force. The lefty guard averaged 29 points through three games at East Mania, hanging a 40-point game against TTO Showcase and 27 points in a win against Expressions EYBL.

Judah Hildago | 2025 Guard | Jersey Force (NJ)

Judah Hidlago is the unsung hero for this Jersey Force team. Hidalgo doesn’t care about scoring the most points, or being considered “the guy”. Hidalgo simply goes out on the floor, and gives it his all. Plays with high intensity, defends and rebounds the ball.

EJ Ashby | 2026 Guard | Rising Stars (NY)

EJ Ashby shot the ball with extreme confidence and precision for Rising Stars during East Warmup. Ashby put together consecutive makes off the catch with ease, making sure he shot the same exact shot with every release. Quickly caught fire from range and utilized this to open up the rest of his floor game.

Sam Waston | 2025 Guard | New Haven Heat (CT)

Very impressed with the two-way tools on and aggression at the point of attack on both sides of the ball from combo guard Sam Waston. Likes to drive the ball and create off the bounce, utilizing his shoulders to create separation. Defensively he took on the challenge of guarding opposing teams best guards.

Sarp Gokbert | 2025 | 6th Boro Hoops (NY)

A true point guard, Gokbert spent his time commanding the 6th Boro offense and finding players where they like the ball. Has good patience and seemingly never sped up by aggressive defenders, Gokbert has a good understanding of time and score, and when to pick his spots.
