The West Spring Circuit concludes this weekend in Las Vegas. Teams from up and down the West Coast and beyond are going head-to-head over Saturday and Sunday to crown champions in each Division. Read on as MADE breaks down some of the standout performers from Sunday:
Blake Urich, 2029 Wing, NoCo Elite (CO)
Like a number of top players from this weekend, Urich is another West Winter Circuit standout who has continued to perform heading into the Summer. A talented shooter who is able to let it fly on the move or as a catch and shoot guy, Urich hit some timely shots that keep NoCo’s lead at a safe distance throughout the championship game.
Demetrius Pink Jr., 2029 Guard, Steelers Elite (AZ)
Pink was the majority of the Steelers Elite offense in the title game, scoring 15 of their first 21, and assisting on the other two baskets scored in that stretch. A long and lanky guard who’s wired to score, Pink will be a player to know for years to come as well.
Noah Hale, 2030 Guard, Super Elite (CA)
Hale is an elite level shooter with range out past the college three point line already. He was great all weekend, but flat out lethal in the Championship game, sparking a 25-5 run to start things off in the final game of the Orange League season. Keep an eye out for the talented guard moving forward.
Kruz Tantoco, 2030 PG, Mercado Basketball (CA)
A smooth lead guard that is able to get into the lane and create for himself and others, Tantoco was the orchestrator for a Mercado Basketball group that was able to capture the Yellow League championship on Sunday. He has an advanced feel for the game and used his quick first step to get into the lane and put pressure on the defense.
Finn Van Ness, 2030 Wing, AZ Phenoms (AZ)
Van Ness was effective as a scorer both around the basket and as a three point shooter on Sunday. He was much of the Phenoms early offense as they looked to stay close to Mercado and hit a handful of threes as they pushed for a comeback bid. His versatility and skill level both make him an effective player now and an interesting prospect in the long run.
