Julius Woods
The 17U Division at MADE Hoops Memphis Live featured a nice collection of talent, and many players took advantage of the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of college coaches.
Here are a few of the standouts from the weekend:
Julius Woods, 2026 Wing, NuStep (CAN)
Woods did seemingly whatever he wanted on the offensive end all weekend, putting together several strong scoring outings and averaging nearly 27.6 points per game. The 6-foot-6 wing is long and athletic and despite his slim build he’s strong enough to finish through contact going to the basket. He also showed nice touch from 3-point range and was efficient pulling up in the mid-range. Defensively, he anticipates well and his length gives opposing ballhandlers trouble. Woods is a newcomer to organized basketball and is a high-upside prospect who should only get better as he adds strength and fills out his frame.
Mikhael Meharegzi, 2025 Guard, NuStep (CAN)
Mehareghi was dangerous in the open floor with smooth handle and hesitation moves that left defenders flailing. He had good vision and consistently found teammates in scoring positions, and was a threat to score himself from 3-point range and in transition.
Gabriele Cattivelli, 2025 Guard, NuStep (CAN)
A sniper from long range, Cattivelli lit opposing defenses up from 3-point land. He has an extremely quick release and doesn’t need much space to get his shot off.
Kamari Friend, 2027 Guard, Upside Athletics (TX)
An intriguing 6-foot-2 guard with good quickness and scoring ability, Friend averaged 14.5 points per game while helping Upside cruise to a perfect 4-0 weekend.
DeAngelo Craig, Jr. 2025 Guard, Team Sweven (AR)
The explosive 5-foot-11 guard can fill it up offensively. He posted 16.6 points per game while helping lead Team Sweven to a strong weekend performance.
Cody Dixon, 2026 Guard, Team Sweven (AR)
A talented two-way performer, Dixon showed good scoring ability as well as vision as a distributor. Creative finisher when attacking the basket.
Brendan Slack, 2026 Guard, Midwest Stampede North (MI)
Slack has good size at 6-foot-4 and displayed good explosiveness with the ability to score at all three levels while averaging 16.8 points per game.
Landon Talladay, 2026 Forward, Midwest Stampede North (MI)
Talladay is a rugged 6-foot-5 forward with a motor that runs non-stop. He attacks the offensive and defensive boards and has a good combination of strength and soft hands.
Danzell Calhoun, 2026 Guard, Midwest Stampede South (MI)
Calhoun is a physical, aggressive guard who can get downhill in a hurry and finish through contact. He displayed good touch in the mid-range with his pull-up jumper and also knocked down open looks from 3-point range. He showed the ability to play on and off the ball effectively, and was a willing and efficient cutter. He wasn’t afraid to mix it up in the paint as a rebounder, either.
Jaxson Francis, 2026 Guard, Midwest Stampede South (MI)
The 5-foot-11 Francis impressed with his overall IQ and consistently made the right plays in transition and in the halfcourt. Offensively he showed good touch from outside and in the mid-range.
Arden Smith, 2026 Forward, SI Select (IL)
Smith is a very fluid and athletic 6-6 forward who had his versatility on display all weekend. He fit in wherever he was deployed, scoring efficiently and rebounding at a high rate. Defensively his athleticism allows him to defend multiple positions.
Nathaniel Marlow, 2026 Guard, SI Select (IL)
Marlow went for 28 points in an opening win to help spark his team to a perfect 4-0 weekend. A very efficient three-level scorer with an impressive feel for the game and vision.
Logan Wring, 2026 Forward, SI Select (IL)
The 6-6 230-pounder was a matchup problem for opponents with his combination of skill and size/strength. He did a very good job of distributing from the high and low posts, and displayed nice touch on his jumper beyond the 3-point arc. Also a capable ballhandler in the open court, where he displayed good vision on the break.
Brodey Cuffle, 2026 Wing, Atlanta Timberwolves (GA)
A 6-foot-6 wing with impressive shooting ability, Cuffle went off in an 86-68 win over Houston Hoops on Friday, dropping a game-high 37 points. An efficient and effective scorer at all three levels, Cuffle has the kind of game that should attract more attention from recruiters this summer.
Caden Steiner, 2026 Guard, Atlanta Timberwolves (GA)
The 6-foot-3 Steiner was deadly from 3-point range in an 81-55 win over Team Loaded Memphis, hitting five 3’s en route to a game-high 22 points.
Gavin Howard, 2026 Wing, Houston Hoops Centex-Miller (TX)
Howard made teams pay for leaving him open behind the 3-point line with a smooth catch and release jumper. He also did a good job of driving and finding open teammates on the wing or cutting to the basket.
Dallas Hernandez, 2026 Guard, Houston Hoops Centex-Miller (TX)
The 6-foot-3 Hernandez gave defenders problems with his strength, combined with a quick first step that allowed him to get downhill to the basket.
Jace Reed, 2026 Guard, Houston Hoops Centex-Miller (TX)
A tough combo guard, Reed did damage as a spot-up shooter from 3-point range, hurting opponents who dared to leave him open on the wings. When defenders did close out hard, he did a good job driving and finishing or dishing to open teammates.
Dylan Howard, 2027 Wing, Houston Hoops Centex-Dewitty (TX)
The 6-foot-6 Howard is an intriguing prospect with a nice combination of size, length and athleticism. He looks the part on the wing and had his versatility on display all weekend, scoring at all three levels and showing the ability to lockdown defensively. Definitely a player to track going forward.
