Andre Steele, Uptown Basketball MHC 17U
The second day of the 2026 Philly Clash was defined by continued strong performances as players and teams tried to round into shape before the May Live period.
Here’s a look at the storylines and superlatives from Sunday:
Sunday’s Storylines
Trio Leads Uptown MHC To Prominence Against Pro16 Squad
Uptown MHC took a huge win against Team New England Pro16. Team New England came out the gates extremely strong, punishing Uptown inside and using their strength and athleticism to overpower Uptown.
In the 2nd half, Uptown MHC would toughen up a bit on the interior and find a way to stop the bleeding. Offensively, the play from Andre Steele would ignite their offense and allow them to get some really good looks off of his dribble penetration. This opened up scoring opportunities for other players like Jo Smuda and Kalil Riley to get going inside.
Their ability to get consecutive stops, create easy baskets and take care of the ball late in the game helped them win with a 59-63 final score.
Mid-Atlantic Select 15U Ends the weekend strong
Mid-Atlantic Select 2029 group got off to a rough start at the Philly Clash, dropping games to Team Final Black and My Basketball Academy on Saturday.
With that in mind, Select wanted to end the weekend on a positive note, and made sure to find a way to have some momentum heading into DMV Live. Sunday afternoon, they put together an impressive performance against a hungry challenger circuit team in BBA Team Amazing.
They would go on to win by 20 points behind notable performances from Zavier Araujo and Tariq Shane.
Sunday’s Superlatives
Smooth Operator – Ayden Davis, 2029 Guard, Team Iverson (PA)
Davis is a player that makes his teammates better with the way he can dictate the pace of the game. Davis earns paint touches with ease and draws multiple defenders consistently, which creates easy opportunities for others. He left the weekend with his first scholarship offer from Drexel University.
Assertive Force – Andre Steele, 2027 Guard, Uptown MHC (PA)
Steele is the leader, and floor general that this Uptown MHC group has needed. Steele’s vocal leadership, and ability to command the offense is glaring for this group, who went 2-1 on the weekend.
Double-Double Machine – Uriah Augare-Deal, 2026 Forward, Vito Official CC (MD)
The 6-foot-6 Augare-Deal exploded for 31 points and 15 rebounds in a 71-55 win over Battle Tested P32. His motor was impressive, as he attacked the offensive and defensive boards with ferocity.
