East Championship: 2028 Big Standouts

Jordan Fisher (TPG UPLAY): Fisher was one of the stronger frontcourt prospects in the Lea7ue this winter. He is a long, high-motor athlete who plays with constant energy on both ends of the floor. He has functional touch when finishing around the rim, plus he has a knack for leveraging his size to exploit smaller mismatches. Fisher is a capable face-up scorer who continued to increase his confidence and comfortability when shooting in the 12-15 foot area throughout the winter. Fisher is a fundamentally sound back to the basket scorer given his mix of advanced positional size, touch, and mobility.

Erick Dampier (Alabama Fusion): Dampier Jr is a highly coveted prospect given his wealth of physical tools at such a young age. The son of an NBA veteran, Dampier Jr clearly possesses his father’s genetics given his eye-popping positional size and length. He does a great job using his positional size to post up opponents, plus he utilizes his length to finish over or around defenders. Dampier Jr has developed as a face-up scorer and he flashed improving mid-range touch this past weekend. Defensively, he’s a high-level rim protector that uses his size + length to block, contest, or deflect opponents shots in the lane.

Mohamed Donzo (Georgia Stars): Donzo is a tall, athletic, and physical wing prospect that had a strong showing against Team Takeover JYD. He was able to score by posting up in the paint, driving strong to the rim, or running the floor. He thrives at leveraging his power + strength to finish through contact and traffic. Donzo kept possessions alive on the offensive glass and he consistently played with a high motor.

Jaylen Allen (Team Melo): Allen is a physical post presence who has the size, strength, and power to control the interior. He has a well-built frame to go along with this explosive verticality that he displayed. He’s a fluid prospect for his size and age, plus he’s continuing to become more comfortable with the ball in his hands. Allen is a mobile rim runner who tends to earn easy points by running the floor quickly.

Jaylin Avery (Team Durant): Avery is a versatile and skilled wing forward who showed notable growth in his skillset this winter. He’s a smooth face-up scorer who has the size + the release point to shoot over smaller defenders. His motor, size, and length makes him a high-volume rebounder who is a threat to keep possessions alive on the offensive glass. Avery also impressed as a rim runner this weekend with his ability to get up and down the floor quickly.

Dave Mbuyamba (Team Durant): Mbuyamba is a physical post presence who loved to take advantage of mismatches. He used his size and upper body strength to seal his position deep in the post where he could earn high percentage looks. His big frame and positional size made him very difficult to stop when he was operating on the low block. Mbuyamba was another heavy contributor on the glass alongside Jaylin Avery for Team Durant.

Bryce Higgins (New York Lightning): Higgins is a long, fluid, and rangy frontcourt prospect who popped out throughout the winter. He imposes an inside-out scoring threat to opposing defenses, plus he continues to play more physical on the interior. He’s an efficient pick and pop scorer who has a knack for locating open spot-up shooting pockets on the perimeter. Higgins does a good job leveraging his size on the interior to finish over opponents.
