2026 West Spring Circuit Championship: Saturday’s Storylines and Superlatives

The road to the West Spring Circuit Championship has wound through four nationwade stops over the last several months, beginning in Mesa, Arizona before making its way through Roseville and Corona, California, and ultimately arriving this weekend at Las Vegas Basketball Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. After months of competition, evaluations, and development, championship Sunday spots are now on the line across the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade divisions. Saturday delivered its share of high-scoring shootouts, defensive battles, and dramatic finishes, setting the stage for a strong final day as teams look to close their spring campaigns with hardware.

Storylines

High-Powered SF Champions, Lyte Academy Set for 7th Purple Championship Clash

Two very different paths led SF Champions 2031 and Lyte Academy into Sunday’s title game. Lyte Academy grinded through a pair of physical contests, edging All NV Grey 2031 by five before adding an eight-point win over a tough JustHoop Rise 13U squad later in the day. SF Champions took a much different route, winning two up-tempo battles against Team Vegas Nation (71-64) and Golden Gators (74-72), scoring 145 combined points across the two victories. Sunday’s finale could come down to whether Lyte Academy can slow the pace enough to keep SF Champions from turning the game into another track meet.

Crowded 7th Navy Field Sets Up Intriguing Championship Sunday

No division may feature more contenders entering Sunday than 7th Navy. Arsenal 2031 enters the semifinals undefeated at 8-0 after convincing wins over Team Right Now 2031 and City Stars National 2031 by margins of 24 and 12 points respectively. Team Touch Black 2031 has been equally dominant, improving to 10-0 behind a pair of decisive victories that included a 27-point win over VEBC 7 Gray. Meanwhile, City Stars National rebounded from an early setback with an impressive victory over Team Right Now, ensuring all four semifinalists arrive with legitimate championship aspirations.

Team Touch Black, Sin City Sauce Boyz on Collision Course in 8th Green

Sunday’s 8th Green championship game will feature two teams arriving with plenty of momentum. Team Touch Black 2030 improved to 10-0 after surviving a pair of tightly contested matchups, first defeating CM Elite 2030 by six before holding off Golden Gators 48-46. Across the bracket, Sin City Sauce Boyz 2030 put together one of the strongest days of any team in the building, winning three games by double figures against Team Right Now, Something Light Assassins, and Arsenal 2030. The result is a championship matchup featuring two groups that found very different ways to keep advancing.

City Stars White Already Through, Awaiting 6th White Opponent

One half of the 6th White championship matchup is already secured after City Stars 2032 White SoCal punched its ticket with a dramatic 63-62 victory over Team Right Now 2032. Earlier in the day, City Stars cruised past Valley Boyz 69-19 following a first-round bye. The remaining championship berth will be decided Sunday morning when undefeated Velocity Titans meet a Premier Elite group that has suffered just one defeat throughout the spring. Regardless of who advances, the title game promises to feature two teams playing some of their best basketball of the season.

Superlatives

Interior Anchor – Logan Kish, 2030 Big, Vegas Elite

Positioning and timing consistently put Kish in advantageous spots throughout the day. He established deep seals effectively, finished high-low opportunities around the basket, and served as a major deterrent whenever opponents ventured into the paint. Rebounding and rim protection added even more value to an already productive outing.

Pace Controller – James Wilkinson, 2031 Guard, City Stars 2031

Few players in attendance manipulated tempo as comfortably as Wilkinson. He changed speeds effortlessly in both transition and half-court settings, creating advantages without ever appearing rushed. The combination of handle, poise, and shot creation gave City Stars a steady offensive engine.

Ignition Source – Adriel Edquibal, 2031 Guard, Velocity Titans 2032

Impact came from all over the floor whenever Edquibal was involved. Defensive instincts consistently generated positive plays, while his decision-making and finishing ability helped keep the offense moving. High-level feel and competitiveness stood out throughout the day.

Two-Way Difference Maker – Cash Torres, 2030 Guard, Sin City Sauce Boyz 2030

Both sides of the ball benefited from Torres’ presence. He knocked down perimeter shots, attacked defensive assignments with energy, and contributed on the glass despite playing in the backcourt. Effort level never wavered, making him one of the more complete performers on Saturday.
