Ahmad Nowell Commits To UConn

2024 | 6’2” Guard | Imhotep Charter School (PA) & Team Final (EYBL)

Top-65 2024 guard Ahmad Nowell recently committed to UConn over Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia Tech. He is set to join Isaiah Abraham (#60 in 2024) in the Huskies 2024 recruiting class. The reigning national champs have been finding success on the recruiting trail, as they now land a gritty and two-way guard to help strengthen their 2024 class. Nowell recently averaged 12.0 PPG, 6.0 APG and 4.8 RPG during Peach Jam for Team Final (EYBL) in Augusta. UConn has also offered Boogie Fland, Curtis Givens, Pat Ngongba, Austin Swartz, VJ Edgecombe, Tyler Betsey, and Jahki Howard among others in the 2024 class.

Nowell is a well-built backcourt prospect who affects the game in numerous facets. He’s a physical ball handler at the point of attack who is filled with power & toughness as a rim finisher. He’s made strides as a playmaker which he demonstrated at Peach Jam by recording 6.0 APG. Has become much more comfortable & efficient when making reads off a live dribble over the past year or so. Also has developed into a capable perimeter shooter with range that extends out to the three-point line. Reliable spout-up shooter who has the ability to create space for himself with his handle and burst. Proved to be comfortable & effective on or the ball this past AAU season while playing in much a different role compared to at Imhotep (PA) where the ball is constantly in his hands. He’s a scrappy defender who plays physical at the point of attack and possesses the foot speed to guard in space.
