2025 USAB Junior National Fall Mini-Camp Superlatives

Benjamin Berrouet

USAB Junior National Fall Mini-Camp brought together some of the nation’s best talent in Colorado Springs last weekend. Read about who stood out and what they did to separate themselves from the pack.

(The players had the corresponding badges added to their MADE Hoops profiles)

 Hidden Gem Badge: Marceles Duncan | 2028 | 6’5 | W | Rangeview (CO) | Mountain Stars

Duncan made the most of his first USAB experience, finding ways to impact winning on both sides of the floor. An athletic wing with good positional size, Duncan found success getting to the rim, guarding multiple positions, and hitting the boards. Offensively, his skill as a handler, passer, and developing shooter shined in Colorado Springs.

Lockdown Defender Badge: Boss Mhoon | 2028 | 6’5 | W | King’s Academy (CA) | Oakland Soldiers

Though he wasn’t able to play in every practice session, Mhoon made the most of the sessions where he participated. His effort, length, speed an lateral quickness, and anticipation make him an extremely disruptive defender. He averaged over 1.5 steals and blocks per game over the summer in EYBL play.

Intimidator Badge: Cameron Holmes | 2026 | 6’5 | G | Millennium (AZ)

My interpretation of this badge is a player that brings competitive fire in every matchup. I don’t think anyone did that more than Holmes. His energy and motor were palpable all throughout the weekend. On top of that toughness, Holmes has been shooting the ball from three at a high level, getting to the rim frequently, and locking down defensively.

High IQ Badge: Beckham Black | 2027 | 6’3 | PG | Southeastern Prep Academy (FL) | AB Elite

Black is one of the best pure PGs in the 2027 class and showed that over the weekend in Colorado Springs. He sees the floor at a high level, demonstrates excellent passing vision, and makes everyone around him better with his understanding of the game on both ends. He made a number of great reads with the ball in his hands in USAB Action.

Hard Worker Badge: Xavier Young | 2028 | 6’9 | F | Faith Family (TX) | Texas Impact 17U

I don’t think there’s a better representation of the hard hat than offensive rebounding, and Young is one of the best in the class at it. He was relentless on the glass and running the floor at USAB. Young also showed impressive interior defense, solid floor spacing from three, and great touch around the rim.

 Feel for the Game Badge: Shalen Sheppard | 2028 | 6’8 | F | Crossroads (CA)

Sheppard has a unique blend of size, skill, and feel especially for a young big. He’s an excellent passer at his position, crafty scorer, and uses his feel on the defensive end to make plays on the ball. His understanding of the game, offensive skillset, and ability to make plays from others gives him a high ceiling as a prospect.

 Bucket Getter Badge: Malachi Jordan | 2027 | 6’7 | W | Dream City Christian (AZ)

Over the past two weekends, not many players have been getting buckets at the level Malachi Jordan has. Whether it’s getting to the rim for explosive finishes, creating his jumper off the dribble, making catch and shoot threes, or drawing fouls, Jordan has been elite offensively. With his scoring skillset and physical tools, Jordan is continuing to prove himself in the top tier of the 2027 class.

 Driver Badge: Nasir Anderson | 2027 | 6’4 | G | Prolific Prep (FL) | Game Elite

Anderson has been the most dominant downhill guard I’ve seen this year. The strong 2027 guard is a bully getting to the paint and creating opportunities at the rim. Elite strength, balance, and burst help him to get wherever he wants with the ball. Making him even more difficult to stop, Anderson has good vision hitting kickouts or finding bigs off his drives.

 Defensive Menace Badge: Evan Willis | 2028 | 6’6 | W | Crossroads (CA)

Willis is a high level athlete and one of the best in the 2028 class. This athleticism, paired with size, effort, and anticipation, make him a force on the defensive end. He flew around, disrupted passing lanes, and blocked shots around the rim consistently throughout camp.

Backdown Punisher Badge: Benjamin Berrouet | 2028 | 6’8 | F | McKinney Boyd (TX) | AB Elite

Berrouet was the most dominant post scorer I saw on the weekend. His footwork, strength, and touch make him a nightmare matchup on the block. Add in high rebounding effort, floor spacing ability, and good decision making as a passer, Berrouet caused defenses tons on problems.

 Three Level Scorer Badge: Bruce Branch III | 2027 | 6’7 | W | Prolific Prep

Branch is one of the smoothest scorers in the country. He is excellent from beyond the arc off the catch or dribble, has great mechanics getting into midrange pullups, and has the size and athleticism to finish around the rim at a high level. In the modern game, Branch can fit seamlessly into almost any system.

 Polished Badge: Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje | 2027 | 6’11 | F | FC Barcelona (Spain)

Boumtje Boumtje had one of the most polished skillsets of any big at camp. He has excellent touch and footwork around the rim, shows strong decision making as a passer, a smooth jumper, and good understanding of spacing and making decisions as a roller.

 Star Potential Badge: Moussa Kamissoko | 2027 | 6’8 | W | LuHi (NY) | PSA

Kamissoko has been among the quickest risers on the national scene over the past few months. He looked every bit the part of a top 2027 prospect at USAB camp. His offensive creation ability, passing for his position, and elite size and length on the perimeter give him a ton of upside. At camp, Kamissoko showed impressive scoring from three, space creation getting downhill, and fluid lateral movement.
