Saturday’s 8th grade slate at the East Spring Circuit Session I showcased a variety of styles, from high-powered offensive performances to controlled, guard-driven wins. Each matchup offered a different look at how teams are learning to win, whether through depth, execution, or tempo control. What stood out most was the teams that combined size, pace, and unselfish play were able to create separation and sustain it over four quarters. Across the board, guard play and decision-making set the tone, with lead ball handlers dictating pace and bigs anchoring the paint when needed. The energy and competitiveness stayed consistent throughout, making for a strong day of evaluation.
Team Final’s Depth and Size Overwhelm DC Premier
Team Final’s depth and size proved to be the difference, as they controlled the game on both ends in a 65–46 win. From the opening stretch, they impacted the game at every position, scoring inside, knocking down perimeter shots, and defending with physicality. Their balance made it difficult for DC Premier to key in on one option, and over time that consistency allowed them to pull away.
City Rocks Dominate Behind Pace, Size, and Pressure
City Rocks delivered one of the most dominant performances of the day, earning an 87–40 win through a combination of size, energy, and execution. They pushed the pace early, finished in transition, and applied consistent defensive pressure. Their control of the glass and ability to generate easy scoring opportunities allowed them to build separation quickly and never look back.
NJ Elite Controls Tempo in Methodical Win Over Team Spartan National
This matchup was more controlled, with NJ Elite leaning on strong guard play to secure a 47–35 win. Their backcourt dictated tempo, valued possessions, and executed efficiently in the half court. Team Spartan National competed, but NJ Elite’s composure and ability to make timely plays kept them in control throughout.
