The Girls East Winter Circuit is nearing its climax, and this weekend’s pivotal Session 3 will be instrumental in shaping the playoff bracket for the Circuit Championships on February 21-22.
Here’s a look at some of the team who have positioned themselves at the top of the standings heading into Session 3 this Saturday and Sunday at Total Turf Experience and Sixth Man Center/PYB.:
8th Grade Pink
Exodus and Philly Youth Basketball top the Pink Division at 8-0, and Jersey Gemz (4-0) is the only other unbeaten, while three teams: Team Thrill, TopNotch and Philly Rise are just a step back at 7-1 each. Keep an eye on the Exodus and Jersey Gemz matchup at 4:10 pm on Saturday.
8th Lavender
8-0 NJ Scholars is the lone unbeaten in the Lavender Division, which has been highly-competitive since the start. Up next are CT Focus (4-1), PW Bulldogs (6-2) and Castle Athletics (6-2). Scholars and CT Focus meet up out of the gate with a key 10:10 am matchup on Saturday.
7th Grade
The 7th Grade Division has been perhaps the tightest one on the circuit, with just a game separating the top squads. Harper U is unbeaten at 8-0, with Gauchos and Team Durant – both 7-1 – nipping at their heels. Exodus is 6-1, and DC Blue Devils 6-2.
6th Grade
Castle Athletics (8-0) and Unity Legends (7-0) have emerged unbeaten through two sessions. Team Takeover (4-1) and Team PA (6-2) are in the hunt, and have a chance to make up some ground this weekend. Unity Legends faces off with Takeover Saturday afternoon, and if they get through that there’s a potential showdown of unbeatens with Castle on Sunday.
5th Grade
Exodus has established itself as the team to beat in the 5th Grade Division with a perfect 7-0 record through two sessions. Virginia Diamonds and Simpson Spiders sit next at 4-3 each.
