The world is currently captivated by March Madness and the transfer portal has already exploded. While prospects continue to wait for the coaching carousel to settle down a few locals have updates. Here’s a quick recap of all the news this past week.
Ryan Moesch I 2026 PG I Cushing (MA)
Moesch continues to stay in the recruitment news cycle as the upstate star picks up another D1 offer. He added Pepperdine to his massive list of suitors and continues to rack up more college interest. His doubters were quickly silenced when he excelled in the NEPSAC and was easily one of the best guards in the league. The upside is there, he’s such a great scorer and always has a big impact on winning. Keep buying stock.
Ethan Ostane I 2026 SG I Putnam Science (CT)
The people were warned that when Ostane moved to 2026 that his recruitment would take off. He was a monster in the PSAL but definitely only started gaining notoriety late in the year. His Senior season was terrific, he showed he was a dynamic two way player who could rebound, make tough shots and loves to compete. Stony Brook is the latest program to get involved since he announced the move to Putnam Science and they also offered him this past week. College coaches can check him out for Team New England this offseason.
Nico Onyekwere I 2025 F I Long Island Lutheran (NY)
Onyekwere transferred to LuHi this season and has been an excellent addition especially down the stretch. His recruitment was a bit of a mystery but he was connected to Florida State and quickly signed with the Seminoles. When news broke that Head Coach Leonard Hamilton would retire after 23 years Onyekwere had a decision to make. He announced that he will officially decommit from the Seminoles program and re-open his recruitment. The 7’1” big man shouldn’t have a problem finding a home especially if he makes any noise at the Chipotle Nationals.
Jaden Kempson I 2025 G I Midland JC (TX)
The Bronx native bounced around a bit in high school and ended up finding a nice spot at Midland Junior College in Texas. He finished off a great sophomore season averaging 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists a game. His game is in a great place, he’s an impressive athlete who can defend multiple possession and is ready to seize his D1 opportunity. Kempson announced on social media that he will be headed to Albany next year to compete in the America East Conference.
Eric Fagin I 2025 G I Monsignor Scanlan (NY)
Fagin is an intriguing guard with size who can score in the mid range, rebound, finish around the rim and defend against wings. He had big moments for Scanlan during the year with a season high 27 but much like his team was inconsistent as well. However the Senior made an announcement that he will be moving back to 2026 and attending Redemption Christian Academy. This is a great move for Fagin who definitely has potential to be an impact player at the next level.
