6-foot-3 2027 guard Myles Fuentes is one of the most decorated players on the MADE Hoops Circuit this season, having already surpassed 1000 career points while being a three-time State Champion at Riviera Prep (FL).
After running the table with his older brother Mason Fuentes (Stetson), Myles Fuentes is gearing up to make a run of his own with All Ball MHC (FL), and one more stint with Riviera Prep.
“It means everything to me to have the opportunity to play all 4 years of high school with my brother and win 3 state championships back to back to back,” he said. “It’s something very few get the chance to do, the ride we had together is for sure unforgettable. Although this season was a little rough with new players coming in at the beginning of the season and struggling to find a rhythm as a team, we soon came together and started winning some big games in some out of town tournaments. At the end of the season we had some injuries that sidelined two of our starters. My biggest takeaway is the importance of leadership. We really didn’t have a true leader out on the court and although we were able to overcome it with talent most of the time, it hurt us at the end of the season. Overall I am still extremely happy with our team’s ability to compete.”
Although Fuentes was one of the Riviera players who dealt with injury – in his case, a foot fracture – he still managed to average 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. With the success Riviera Prep has had in recent years, Fuentes already has his sights set on going out with a bang as a senior.
“My season ended short with my injury but I still was able to win First Team All-County and also won districts before we came up short in the regional finals,” said Fuentes. “With my brother gone I feel I need to become more of a leader and command our offense and defense. A few things I want to do this summer are being more efficient when shooting while also creating for my teammates. The most important thing is becoming a great communicator and leader for my teammates.”
Now that the summer is approaching, All Ball and Fuentes are excited to make an impact on the MHC. They are no strangers to MADE Hoops, and they feel like the MHC is the best place for the program to showcase its talents.
“I’m definitely excited to play my last season on MHC. It’s a growing circuit that’s getting bigger every year, with more exposure, better competition, and strong media coverage,” said Fuentes. “They do a good job marketing players like me, which will be important for me getting my name out there to coaches and scouts. I feel like it’s a great opportunity for me to showcase my game, compete at a high level, and take a big jump into playing at the next level. I’d say one of my biggest focuses while playing MHC is improving my shooting off the dribble and making it more consistent. I want to be able to create my own shot at any time and knock it down efficiently, especially in tough situations.”
The crafty floor general has done a great job of putting his best efforts forward whenever he touches the floor, garnering the attention of schools like West Virginia, Villanova, Florida State, Stanford and more.
He recently took a visit to UCF, and Fuentes took some time to break down his relationship with UCF, and a few other programs that are in the mix.
“They’ve (UCF) been recruiting me since 7th grade, even with the new staff,” he said. “I’ve built a really good relationship with Coach [Dwayne Anderson]. He’s consistent and I feel like he really understands my game. My visit was great. I loved the campus and especially the student atmosphere at the games.
Some other programs like Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Duquesne, Stanford, West Virginia, FSU, FIU, La Salle, Stetson and Georgia Tech. Hoping to visit Ole Miss and Stanford in the fall.”
