Colby’s Standouts

Deron Rippey Jr. | New Heights Lightning

Rippey put together a string of outings from S1 to S2 and showed why he is considered one of the top point guards in the 2026 class on a national level. Despite his team playing up on the 17U level, the size and strength of opposing teams did nothing to stop Rippey in getting to where he wanted. In fact on many occasions, he was the one overwhelming his matchup in creating and finishing through contact. As skilled as a three-level scorer that Rippey is, he is by no means goes into tunnel vision mode when he gets into the paint. He's driving to create opportunities for others and did so with regularity. His poise, patience and instincts in ball screen actions resulted in clean looks at the
