Philly Catholic MVP Korey Francis Makes MHC Debut After Historic Junior Campaign

The 2025-26 Philadelphia Catholic League Most Valuable Player, Korey Francis could make a strong case as the top player in the state of Pennsylvania right now.

The 2027 lead guard has achieved a ton of accomplishments this season and in his career overall, scoring over 600 points this season – reaching over 1,200 for his career – while also leading Bonner-Prendergast (PA) to their first state title in program history. The 6-foot-4 junior is now gearing up for his last grassroots summer on the MADE Hoops Circuit  with Philly Revolution/Team Iverson (PA). He caught up with MADE Hoops to express his excitement for the circuit, detail what went into his legendary season, and more.

The 2026 MaxPreps Pennsylvania Player of The Year, and 1st Team-All Catholic member was undisputedly the Catholic League’s best performer from start to finish. Francis dominated all year, putting up 21.6 points and 7.1 rebounds while leading his team to a 24-6 record and a 5A State Championship. The Friars’ program saw two players make 1st Team-All Catholic honors in Francis and Kam Jackson. For Francis, this is his second  time earning 1st Team-All Catholic honors, making him the first sophomore to be named 1st Team All-Catholic at Bonner in over 20 years. Although the junior guard is the headliner, he claims it was Bonner’s togetherness that pushed them to the top.

“Our togetherness brought us to the Palestra, but the loss in the Palestra really just made us more hungry,” said Francis. We couldn’t leave without any hardware for this special of a group. I think we faced a few challenges towards the beginning of the season. Just figuring out guys’ roles, and getting everyone on the same page, and finding one goal. It’s a great feeling just to have everyone come together as a collective and complete something that hasn’t been done before.”

Being a leader for this group meant a lot to Francis. He appreciates all the notoriety and love he receives, but makes sure to keep the important things at the forefront of his mind.

“The awards mean a lot,” he said. “None of this would be possible without God, family, and teammates. But the preparation was just getting better day by day.”

The long-time Team Final standout is making his MHC debut with Team Iverson this spring for his last grassroots season. He joins another star-studded group of MADE Hoops NIL athletes, and will be sharing the court with some of his best friends and people he trusts.

“My goal this summer is to grow as a player, and show my talent on a national level,” he said. “I made the move to Team Iverson because I trust John Brennan and the guys they brought through last year, and this year.”

Francis currently holds interest and offers from FGCU, Hofstra, La Salle, NC A&T, Temple, St. Joe’s, East Carolina, Bryant, UAlbany and more.
