2024 | 6’6” Wing | Mount Saint Joseph (MD) & Team Melo (EYBL)
2024 wing Tyonne Farrell recently committed to Rhode Island over Towson, DePaul, & more. He joins fellow DMV prospect Ben Hammond in the Rams 2024 recruiting class. Kenny Johnson has been well-known for his DMV ties and the URI staff is starting to recruit at a high level. Archie Miller & staff have put together a strong 2024 class early on and we’ll have to wait to see who else joins this group.
Farrell gives Rhode Island some depth on the wing and he had some strong showings on the EYBL Circuit this past spring & summer. He’s a wiry athlete who covers ground quickly with minimal dribbles, plus he’s a rugged finisher who doesn’t shy away from contact. Continues to make strides as a shooter & ball handler where he’s become a much more consistent spot-up threat from distance. Possesses a fluid release point, although expanding his range & consistency will be key at the next level. Maintains the upper body build to wall-off slashers and he’s shown glimpses of his ability to guard in space as well. Overall, this was a strong get for the Rhode Island staff and I’m intrigued to see how they tap into Farrell’s upside.
