When you first watch 6-foot-9 2026 forward Will Malual, the first thing that immediately jumps out about his game is his exceptional mobility. Players of his size are not typically expected to move with his quickness, speed, and overall fluidity, making the Crean Lutheran High School (CA) prospect a difficult matchup on both ends of the floor.

Malual established himself on the Pro16 Circuit last spring and summer with the PlayersPlay 17U team. He consistently produced strong numbers against elite national competition, demonstrating a skill set advanced for his size that translates well to the modern game. While he often operated on the interior in PlayersPlay’s motion offense, he is far from a traditional back-to-the-basket forward. At 6-9, he regularly displays the ability to put the ball on the floor, attack defenders off the dribble, and create offense in space.

His footwork is particularly impressive, showing balance and control whether operating in the post or facing up from the perimeter. He has a natural feel for using his body to create angles, allowing him to score in a variety of ways, including post moves, slashing drives, and opportunistic finishes around the rim.

His fluid athleticism translates directly to the defensive end. His combination of length, timing, and lateral mobility makes him an impactful rim protector. During the Pro16 season, he consistently altered shots and showcased elite instincts as a weak-side shot blocker, delivering highlight-reel blocks. His agility allows him to cover ground, switch onto different players, and be disruptive in passing lanes. This defensive versatility is extremely valuable in today’s positionless game.

Prospect Outlook

The combination of size, athleticism, and skill – including ball handling, off-the-bounce attacking, and rim protection – makes him an intriguing prospect who fits the mold of the modern two-way forward.

Following his breakout on the Pro16 circuit, Malual is firmly established as a name to watch in the 2026 class. If his development continues, his stock will only continue to rise. He has recently switched teams and will return to the Pro16 circuit with Magic Select to maximize exposure and garner more scholarship attention from colleges. As a 2026 player, time is of the essence in his recruitment.
