Shelton Williams-Dryden kickstarting high level recruitment

West Georgia’s Shelton Williams-Dryden declared for the NBA Draft on Monday, but also entered his name into the transfer portal as well. The junior forward started 30 of 31 games for the Wolves and averaged 17.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game on 55% shooting while having a PER of 24.7. Williams-Dryden scored 20 or more points 14 different times throughout the season. He has a long list of potential suitors already, which includes one program still in the NCAA Tournament.

Schools Involved: “Florida State, Fresno State, Cleveland State, Oakland, Texas Tech, Arkansas Little Rock, Arkansas State, Bowling Green, UNC Asheville, New Mexico, High Point, North Dakota State, Eastern Michigan, SIUE, Western Illinois, George Mason, SEMO, UW Green Bay, Bakersfield, and Grambling,”

What He’s Looking For & What He Brings: “Somewhere that’s a similar situation to this year where I can come in and play instantly and even start, and try to help a team win. On the court I bring my toughness, leadership, a high motor, winning mentality, someone who can score the ball at all three levels, and someone who can guard 1-5. Off the court, I’m someone who doesn’t party, drink, smoke, lives in the gym, someone who a team would love to be around, funny, giving, the type of person who helps the next person.”

Basketball Background: “I played varsity my junior and senior year at Milwaukee Bay View High School. I was the all-time leading scorer and rebounder. I didn’t play AAU then went to a division 2 JUCO called Milwaukee Area Tech where we won a national title my first year, and in my second year I got first team All-American.”
